Fonatur Delivers Works in Localities of the Mayan Train in Campeche and Yucatán

The construction of the Mayan Train not only implies the modernization of transportation in the region, but also seeks to improve the living conditions of the communities near its route. For this reason, Fonatur delivers works in localities of the Mayan Train in Campeche and Yucatán.

Through the Comprehensive Development Plan, Fonatur carried out 42 actions and social works in localities of 15 municipalities in Campeche and Yucatán.

Among the works delivered this week are a baseball field in Citilcum and a medical clinic in Maxcanú. These actions are just some of the many that have been carried out on section 3 of the Maya Train, which runs from Calkiní, Campeche, to Izamal, Yucatán.

Javier May Rodríguez, general director of the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (Fonatur), explained that the Comprehensive Development Plan is an instruction from President Andrés Manuel López Obrador so that the Mayan Train benefits the towns through which it passes.

The medical center in Maxcanú is equipped with everything necessary to offer optimal medical care to the entire population, particularly those who do not have access to private health services. Meanwhile, the baseball field in Citilcum will boost the promotion of the sport and improve the general well-being of the population.

Fonatur Delivers Works in Localities of the Mayan Train

But these are not the only works delivered by Fonatur in the municipalities near the Mayan Train. In Chocholá, 11 built and paved streets were delivered that guarantee a dignified and safe connection for the residents.

In Kanasín, renovation projects were carried out in the Ejidal House, thus improving the facilities for the benefit of the community. On the other hand, in Halachó, a new Ejidal House was built and delivered for the use and enjoyment of its inhabitants.

In Xcucul Sur, a municipality located in Umán, the reconstruction of 1.6 km of road between Ticimul and Dzununcán was carried out. This work was a latent need that had been awaited by the community for more than 20 years.

Finally, thanks to the Comprehensive Development Plan of the Mayan Train, this work has materialized and the inhabitants of the area now have a safe and dignified means of communication.

In total, the Integral Development Plan of the Mayan Train carries out 42 actions and social works in the municipalities of Dzitbalché and Calkiní, in Campeche, and Halachó, Maxcanú, Kopomá, Chocholá, have a significant improvement in public and recreational spaces such as school classrooms. , health centers, communal and cultural houses, harvest roads and hydraulic infrastructure.

The towns of Umán, Mérida, Kanasín, Tixpeual, Tixkokob, Cacalchén, Bokobá, Izamal and Sudzal, located in the state of Yucatán, have been the object of various actions and social projects. Among them are the construction and improvement of streets and roads, the promotion of beekeeping and agricultural activities, and the implementation of an electrical network.

Each one of these actions of a social nature is supervised by the inhabitants of the communities themselves to guarantee that both the quality of the materials and the construction processes and delivery times are met.
