On his weekend tour, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador personally monitors the progress of the Mayan Train in the southern region of Mexico.

The long-awaited first section of the Mayan Train, which will connect Campeche with Cancun, is scheduled to begin operations in just one month. Subsequently, the section that goes from Cancún to Palenque is expected to be in operation by December 31 of this year.
The completion of this railway project, which will cover the states of Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo, is scheduled for February 29, 2024.
