Mayan Train Will Promote Tourism from Cancun to the South of Quintana Roo

Mara Lezama Espinosa, the current governor of Quintana Roo, has repeatedly stressed the urgency of revitalizing the south of the state. This region, which has historically been left in the shadow of the burgeoning tourist north, can, thanks to the Mayan Train, begin to balance the scales and attract more visitors.
In one of his recent morning conferences, the federal president delved into the hopes and aspirations surrounding the Mayan Train and the imminent “Felipe Carrillo Puerto” Tulum airport. The vision is clear: to expand the country’s tourist and cultural horizons.

Mayan Train Will Promote Tourism from Cancun to the South of Quintana Roo
The data offered by the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) is revealing: almost half (46.6%) of international tourists who arrive in Mexico do so through Cancun.
We are talking about millions of travelers who, with the implementation of the Mayan Train, will have the opportunity to explore beyond the beaches and hotels of Cancun, entering the heart of the Mexican southeast.
The statements of the president and Governor Lezama indicate that both the Maya Train and the Tulum airport will open their doors in December. These megaprojects will not only boost tourism in the south of Quintana Roo, but also promise to be the engine of development for the entire southeastern region of the country.
