Before the long-awaited launch of the Mayan Train scheduled for December, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is preparing for his second detailed examination of this monumental project that enhances the Mexican southeast.
This Thursday, Alstom, the company behind the creation of the trains that meanders through five entities in the Mexican southeast, announced in a statement that the next evaluation is scheduled for October 6 to 8. On these dates, López Obrador also confirmed that he will be making his second inspection visit.
Not long ago, the national leader revealed that this second review, a key phase before the official opening, will cover from Cancún, Quintana Roo, to Escárcega, Campeche, passing through sectors 2, 3 and 4 of the project.
Alstom confirmed that the itinerary of this trip will examine precisely these sections, with speeds that will fluctuate between 30 and 80 km/h, depending on the characteristics of the terrain and the different review tasks.

The next evaluation trip of the Mayan Train has two primary focuses: the interaction with existing crossings and the integrity of the railway infrastructure. Alstom specified that, regarding crossings, the purpose is to ensure a safe and efficient transition when the train crosses structures such as bridges and viaducts.
This review ensures that train characteristics, from dimensions to braking distances, are perfectly synchronized with these crossings.
Additionally, meticulous tests will be carried out on the constituent elements of the road where this transport vehicle will travel, to ensure that they are in “ideal conditions and operating perfectly.”
