The governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama Espinosa, has made public that, in a period of just five months, the Cancun International Airport has managed to serve more than 14 million passengers. Next arrival of the first convoy of the Mayan Train to Cancun

The long-awaited first train of the Mayan Train has an arrival date: it will be July 8 when it arrives in Cancun, Quintana Roo, in order to begin the period of static and dynamic tests. This great step in the mobility of the southeastern region of the country was announced by the General Director of the National Fund for Tourism Promotion, Javier May Rodríguez.

In this sense, Maite Ramos Gómez, director of Alstom Mexico, gave more details about the process. The vehicle will cover 15,000 kilometers as part of the operational tests. In addition, exhaustive evaluations will be carried out in the water, electricity and door services through an advanced technological system for real-time diagnosis, known as HealthHub.

Completion schedule for strategic projects

Regarding the Comprehensive Program for the Development of Strategic Projects in Cancun, the Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation, Jorge Nuño Lara, has provided essential details.

As indicated, the Boulevard Luis Donaldo Colosio and the Airport Distributor in Cancun will be operational at the end of August. In turn, Chac Mool Avenue is estimated to be completed in December and the Nichupté Vehicular Bridge would be ready in March 2024.

Nuño Lara stressed that these roads are freely accessible, that is, they are exempt from tolls. A measure that will benefit more than 1.3 million inhabitants of the municipalities of Benito Juárez, Solidaridad, Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres.

These strategic routes not only improve the quality of life for local residents, but will also facilitate access for more than 20 million national and foreign tourists to the coveted area of Cancun.
