The Mayan Train service, in its section that covers from the San Francisco de Campeche station to Cancun, has been temporarily suspended due to the arrival of Hurricane Milton.
This measure, taken as a precaution, seeks to guarantee the safety of both users and personnel involved in the train’s operations.
Preventive measures and safety
To deal with the impact of the hurricane, the Emergency Monitoring and Operations Center has been activated, located at the General Directorate of the Mayan Train in Mérida, Yucatán.
This center will be key to coordinating security actions and supervising the progress of Milton throughout the affected region.
In addition, the railway authorities have communicated that the service section between Cancún Airport and San Francisco de Campeche will remain out of operation until conditions are safe.
Meanwhile, the trains that cover the Playa del Carmen – Mérida-Teya route will end their journey at the Cancún Airport station, avoiding traveling through higher risk areas.
