This announcement was made during his morning conference at the National Palace, marking an important milestone for this infrastructure project.

The completion of the seven sections of the Mayan Train, including stations and depots, is a significant step towards improving connectivity in southeastern Mexico.
One of the last obstacles this project faced was the construction of a cable-stayed bridge on Section 5 south.

In addition to the announcement of full operation for August, President López Obrador mentioned that Section 7, which extends from Chetumal to Escárcega, will be inaugurated in June.
This progress will leave only the connection of the cable-stayed bridge pending, thus completing the infrastructure necessary for the Mayan Train to operate at full capacity.
This last step will effectively close the entire train circuit, allowing smooth operation throughout its more than 1,500 kilometers of length.
