On September 7, Tulum will witness the inauguration of a new hotel that joins the ambitious Mayan Train project.
With a total of 352 rooms, this will be the largest of the six hotels that are being built along the Maya Train route in southeastern Mexico.
Among its amenities, it will have a pool, a temazcal and multiple services that seek to offer a unique experience to visitors to this iconic region.
This lodging center, which is already 72% complete in its construction, will open its doors simultaneously with the operation of section 5 of the Maya Train.
The construction of this hotel has not only meant an important boost to tourism in the region, but has also generated 3,112 direct jobs during its development.
Currently, it is in the final phase of finishing, equipment, adaptation of green areas and installation of lighting, which promises to make it a reference for accommodation in Tulum.

Strategic Connection with the Mayan Train
The new hotel in Tulum will be located less than three kilometers from the Mayan Train station, allowing a direct and convenient connection for guests to the famous archaeological zone of Tulum.
This link will facilitate travelers’ access to other tourist attractions in the region, such as cenotes, paradisiacal beaches and lagoons, enriching their travel experience.
In addition, this hotel is part of a network of six accommodations strategically located at different points of interest along the Mayan Train route, with other locations in Palenque, Calakmul, Chichén Itzá, Uxmal and Edzná.
These developments not only seek to promote tourism, but also to create a cultural and natural corridor that highlights the richness of the Mexican southeast.
Progress in the construction of Section 5 of the Mayan Train
Section 5 of the Maya Train, which connects Cancun with Tulum, has been one of the most challenging of the project, not only because of the technical complexities, but also because of the numerous protests that have arisen against it.
The Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) has highlighted that this section comprises 111 kilometers of double electrified track and includes three stations.

Challenges Overcome in the Construction of Section 5
At a recent press conference, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador acknowledged the obstacles faced during the construction of this section, noting that, despite the difficulties and protests from what he has called “pseudo-environmentalists,” the project is moving forward firmly.
AMLO stressed that special measures have been taken to protect the cenotes, underground rivers and caves in the region, aspects that make this project a unique challenge compared to others developed by previous administrations.
The inauguration of the hotel in Tulum and the launch of section 5 of the Mayan Train not only represent an advance in infrastructure, but also a determined commitment to the tourist and economic development of the Riviera Maya, reaffirming the commitment to integrate and protect the natural and cultural riches of the region.
