“Made in Mexico” Recognition is a Symbol of Pride for the Mayan Train
The Mexican government, through the Ministry of Economy, awarded the Mayan Train the iconic “Made in Mexico” designation, consolidating its position as a railway project representative of national engineering and talent.
This recognition is a testament to the commitment, innovation, and vision that inspire our country, reflecting the efforts of thousands of Mexicans who have directly participated in the creation of this historic project.
The official presentation was led by Bárbara Botello Santibáñez, head of the National Branding Plan, who highlighted the importance of the Mayan Train as an example of Mexican modernity, while respecting our roots.
The Mayan Train connects communities, fosters sustainable development, and projects Mexico into the future, integrating ancestral knowledge with cutting-edge technology and generating opportunities for producers, artisans, and students.
A bridge between tradition and progress
During the ceremony, the general director of the Maya Train, Óscar David Lozano Águila, shared figures that demonstrate the social and economic impact of the project.
Between December 2023 and September 2025, more than 1.6 million people have used the service, underscoring the public’s support and confidence in this project, which is transforming mobility in southeastern Mexico.
Lozano Águila emphasized that the Maya Train represents the union of history, identity, and the entrepreneurial spirit of our country.
The history of the “Made in Mexico” label
Joaquín Díaz Mena, governor of Yucatán and host of the event, explained that the “Made in Mexico” seal began its journey in 1978, evolving to become an official certification mark aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals established in the 2030 Agenda.
Currently, more than 600 companies and nearly 2,000 products have been accredited with this seal, opening up new opportunities for growth and positioning for the national industry in international markets.
National pride and social commitment
The Governor of Tabasco, Javier May Rodríguez, emphasized that this recognition is the result of the tireless work of Mexican citizens.
Even in the most challenging times, such as the pandemic, the construction of the Mayan Train continued to move forward thanks to collective efforts.
Bearing the “Made in Mexico” badge on the Mayan Train cars symbolizes our country’s trust and support for national talent, making this project a benchmark of identity and development for future generations.
