Mayan Train in London as an International Tourist Attraction

During her participation in the London 2024 tourism fair, the Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, highlighted the multiple opportunities that the Mayan Train offers to boost tourism in Mexico.

At this event, known as the World Travel Market and held from November 5 to 7 in London, United Kingdom, the official emphasized the importance of railway infrastructure for national tourism and to position Mexico in international markets.

This space is key to generating strategic links with professionals in the tourism industry worldwide.

Rodríguez Zamora explained that one of the main objectives is to capture the attention of more than half a million English tourists who visit Mexico each year.

Accompanied by representatives from the states of Baja California, Baja California Norte, Nayarit, Yucatán and Quintana Roo, the Secretary of Tourism showed a diverse offer that seeks to attract new visitors and promote the culture and natural beauty of Mexico.

Challenges and Strategies for Mexican Tourism

During his speech, Rodríguez Zamora also addressed the current challenges for the tourism sector in Mexico.

He explained that the Maya Train has become a crucial element within the national tourism promotion strategy.

The Ministry of Tourism is in talks with airlines to increase the frequency of flights to key destinations such as Cancun and Mexico City, thus facilitating the access of international visitors to the country.

Negotiations are also underway with tour operators to include new tourism products in exclusive packages, expanding the offering for visitors.

The Secretary of Tourism stressed that, although the challenges are significant, the alliances between the private sector, state and federal governments will contribute to strengthening the Mayan Train as a key tourist attraction.

The aim is to consolidate this infrastructure as a tourist product that offers a unique experience to those who choose to travel along the Mayan Train route.

Innovative Mexican Pavilion at the Tianguis de Londres

At the inauguration of the Mexico Pavilion, Rodríguez Zamora highlighted the commitment to an innovative approach in promoting tourism.

This pavilion was designed as an interactive space, with the aim of challenging traditional presentation models and capturing the attention of attendees.

In total, more than 70 companies, in collaboration with various states of the country, joined together under the brand “Mexico” to show the best of their cultural and tourist offerings.

With an estimated attendance of 50 thousand participants at the London tourist market, Rodríguez Zamora stressed the importance of promoting Mexico in a forum of this magnitude.

The goal is to increase the number of international visitors, maximize the economic impact and encourage the creation of jobs in Mexico, generating direct benefits for citizens.
