Yucatan will be Strengthened with the Mayan Train: Vila

During the intervention of the Yucatecan president at the AMLO conference, he assured that Yucatan will be strengthened with the Mayan Train.

Mauricio Vila Dosal, governor of Yucatan, stressed that the Mayan Train will boost the region’s competitiveness, allowing trade to be extended with the US east coast.

In the morning conference on Monday at the National Palace, the governor offered details about joint transportation and infrastructure projects that are being carried out in Yucatan in collaboration with the federal government.

The Mayan Train, according to Vila Dosal, is a catalyst for economic progress and a generator of employment in Yucatan, as well as being a key factor in promoting tourism.

This initiative will increase the influx of tourists visiting Cancun, in Quintana Roo, who will be able to quickly reach Yucatan, thanks to the 160-kilometer journey that the state will offer upon completion of the construction of the route.

The governor stressed that this railway connection will not only boost tourism in the region, but will also strengthen the local industry, benefiting small and medium-sized Yucatecan businesses.

In addition, the Mayan Train project joins other efforts by the state and federal governments to improve the quality of life of citizens and promote investment in key sectors such as education, health and the environment.

Vila Dosal also mentioned the importance of joint work between different levels of government and collaboration with the private sector to carry out large-scale projects such as the Mayan Train.

Likewise, he affirmed that transparency and accountability are fundamental to guarantee the success of these projects and generate trust in the population.

The governor also took the opportunity to invite the inhabitants of Mexico City to attend Expo Yucatán, which will take place in the country’s capital from May 12 to 21 of this year.

During those days, approximately 200 Yucatecan artisans will exhibit their products in the Zócalo of Mexico City, from 10 in the morning to 9 at night.

This event seeks to highlight the cultural and artistic wealth of Yucatan, as well as boost local talent and promote cultural exchange with other regions of the country.

Within the framework of the Yucatan Expo, various activities will be carried out so that visitors learn more about the history, gastronomy and Yucatecan traditions. Among them, there will be workshops, conferences, artistic exhibitions and musical presentations by local and national talents.

At the conclusion of the presentation of Vila Dosal, the Mexican president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, congratulated the governor for maintaining Yucatán as the safest state in the country for several years.
