Tourism will Benefit from the Mayan Train: Miguel Torruco
During the Tianguis Turístico in Mexico City, the Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, discussed the most important projects for the development of the tourism industry in Mexico, ensuring that tourism will benefit from the Mayan Train in the region.
According to the official, the event will generate an investment of more than 31 billion dollars in tourism projects.
Torruco Marqués also highlighted that, after the pandemic, the tourist profile has changed and has different needs and demands than before 2020.
The Secretary of Tourism pointed out that, despite a contraction in the number of tourists, the economic benefit has increased due to the fact that tourists visiting Mexico now have greater purchasing power. In addition, the Mexican economy has strengthened and investment confidence in the country has increased.

Torruco Marqués highlighted that the Mayan Train and other projects in different areas of Mexico, the Trans-Isthmic Corridor and the elevated train, will contribute to the development of tourism in different parts of the country, especially in the Yucatan Peninsula, Los Cabos and the Riviera Nayarit.
