During the Tianguis Turístico in Mexico City, the Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, discussed the most important projects for the development of the tourism industry in Mexico, ensuring that tourism will benefit from the Mayan Train in the region.
According to the official, the event will generate an investment of more than 31 billion dollars in tourism projects.
Torruco Marqués also highlighted that, after the pandemic, the tourist profile has changed and has different needs and demands than before 2020.
The Secretary of Tourism pointed out that, despite a contraction in the number of tourists, the economic benefit has increased due to the fact that tourists visiting Mexico now have greater purchasing power.
