The total duration of the trip from Cancun to Palenque was approximately 12 hours.
During the journey, the train reached speeds of up to 120 km/h, with a brief stop in Campeche for fuel and food supplies.
Governor Mara Lezama shared the experience on her social networks, highlighting the comfort and optimal speed of the train, as well as the importance of December 31, 2023, the day this section of the project was inaugurated.
The Future of the Mayan Train
President López Obrador announced that the full launch of the Mayan Train is expected on February 29, 2024, which will eventually connect five states in southeastern Mexico, strengthening tourism and the regional economy.
