There are no more protections that stop the advance of the Mayan Train: Fonatur
It has been a year with a lot of activity on the part of the opposition, but there are no more protections that stop the advance of the Mayan Train.
Fonatur’s spokesman, Fernando Fernández, has recently confirmed that there are no new protections that can stop the works of the Mayan Train.
Since the beginning of this year, there have been several attempts to stop this project promoted by the Mexican government through different types of injunctions, but to date none have succeeded in affecting its progress.
In a recent case, a definitive suspension of the works regarding the clearing of the vegetation was granted, but this did not affect the progress of the project at all, since the Mayan Train had already advanced to another phase.
The injunctions have been used mainly to try to stop the construction of the Mayan Train due to concerns about its environmental impact.
Despite these attempts, the project has continued to progress without significant interruptions.

While there have been concerns around environmental degradation, disruption to animal habitats, and damage to reefs in Puerto Morelos, measures have been put in place to mitigate these impacts and ensure proper protocols are followed.
The Quintana Roo government has also taken steps to ensure that the construction of the Mayan Train does not affect marine life in the area, particularly the coral reefs in Puerto Morelos.
For this, a provisional permit has been requested to build an alternative road through which the tons of ballast necessary for the construction of sections 5 and 6 of the project will be transferred.
Despite these challenges, the Mayan Train remains one of the most important infrastructure projects of the Mexican government.
It is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy, benefiting more than 1.3 million people in the municipalities of Benito Juárez, Solidaridad, Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres.
In addition, the project is also expected to attract more tourists to the region, thereby boosting the local and national economy.
One of the main benefits of the Mayan Train is its ability to reduce travel times and improve connectivity in the region.
It will connect five states in the Mexican southeast, improving access to important tourist destinations such as Cancun, Tulum and Chichen Itza.
The Mayan Train is expected to foster economic growth in these areas by attracting more tourists and improving mobility.
Although there have been some bumps along the way, the Mayan Train continues to move forward without major hiccups.
With its ability to drive economic growth and improve connectivity in the region, this infrastructure project is of vital importance to the future of Mexico.
