Sectur Grants Quality Certificates to Mayan Train Hotels
The Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) has recognized six hotels under construction under the Mayan Train (Tren Maya) brand, granting them hotel classification certificates.
This event was held in Costa Mujeres, with the participation of José Zeind Domínguez, general director of the agency.
Certifications Awarded
At the ceremony, the hotels Tren Maya Edzná, Tren Maya Calakmul, Tren Maya Palenque, Tren Maya Chichén Itzá, Tren Maya Nuevo Uxmal and Tren Maya Tulum were recognized. These constructions are in charge of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena).
Governor Mara Lezama, state Tourism Secretary Bernardo Cueto Riestra, and the mayors of Isla Mujeres and Benito Juárez, Atenea Gómez Ricalde and Pablo Gutiérrez, respectively, attended the event, underscoring the importance of tourism development in the region.
Trademark Registration and Protection
José Zeind Domínguez highlighted that the certificates were granted due to the high quality and meticulous planning of these tourism projects.
In addition, he reported that Sedena has begun the process of registering trademarks related to these hotels through the Mexican Institute of Intellectual Property (IMPI).
This registration is essential to protect brands and ensure their recognition.
Boost to the Tourism Sector
The delivery of certificates is part of a series of reforms and actions in the tourism sector, such as the exemption from payments to tourist guides for access to monuments and archaeological zones.
These measures seek to guarantee a high-quality tourist experience, offering visitors to the Mayan Train exceptional services.
